Background of the Series
Set in an alternate dimension, where humans do not exist. Life is promoted by knowledgeable inter-dimensional beings, commonly referred to as "unicorns". They can take on any form, but choose to be their idea of absolute beauty.
Long ago, a young male unicorn came into contact with a mortal horse. They shared a connection on a whole new level, which is strange seeing as they were a completely different species. However, something unusual chemically took place. The mare became in foal, but not by that of a horse. The unicorns were shocked by this, and ordered they leave that dimension immediately, or else they would have to destroy the mare and her foals... Hybrids were not encouraged, especially that of an immortal being and a mere horse.
Two foals were born, twin fillies, named Epona and Erebus. Half unicorn, half horse. This meant they retained part of the energy possessed by unicorns, and also their immortality. The sisters lived together, hidden away, learning, developing and studying. Epona was the wiser of the two, however Erebus was the stronger sister.
Centuries passed, they learned a great deal from the traces of knowledge and energy the unicorns had left behind. Erebus became resentful of the horse blood that ran through her veins, she longed to join the other unicorns. Epona on the other hand, would watch over the horses, protecting them from harm. She saw the potential in their free spirits.
This eventually caused explosive conflict. Erebus had been possessed by her lust for power.
She turned on her sister, attempting to kill her, and drain her energy so that she could become a pure blood unicorn. However, Epona fought back, but Erebus was profoundly powerful, almost succeeding in defeating her sister. With a last muster of strength, Epona teleported to the location of one of the herds she was observing. She called upon the two most capable horses to obtain her energy, and use it to defeat her sister, but to also decrease the chance of Erebus stealing her energy and rising to power.
A grey mare, "Nefertiti", and a pinto stallion, "Sanuye" stepped forward. As Epona began transferring her energy, another horse, "Ocasta" saw the opportunity to prove himself as a leader, and stepped into the glowing orb that began surrounding the two horses. Each horse received a third (1/3) of Epona's power, and proceeded to use it to defeat Erebus.
It would seem that the three were victorious. The horses then decided to form their own herds, and use their energy only for good, to aid the environment and protect their herd. Nefertiti formed the Quintessence Herd, Sanuye formed the Celestial herd, and Ocasta formed the Renaissance herd.
Centuries later, all would seem well...However, Erebus' soul was never destroyed, only her body. She still roams the lands, searching for a way to return to power. This is where our story begins...

Synopsis of the Series
A story of companionship, love and hardship. Conquering Tide is based around the three herds having to work together to prevent Erebus from rising to power yet again.
Erebus has managed to steal another horse's body; now she has a physical form. She intends to harvest energy by brainwashing, seducing and using the other horses to create chaos, from which she draws power. She is able to convert the noblest minded of horses into fearless and heartless creatures of darkness. Which also happens to enhance their powers.
In Conquering Tide you'll follow characters such as Loki, Gaia, Neptune, Ariston, Venus, Thor, Pandora and Legion on a journey of a lifetime, to free their people and themselves. Metaphorically and literally. Conquering Tide explores the depth of friendship and conflict. All the characters have flaws, and strengths which the audience can relate to. They certainly aren't perfect, and working together is one of the greatest challenges they've ever faced. Especially being inexperienced youngsters.
